Sneak Peek: Jim Hjelm

This season’s big trend was texture, texture, and more texture. We’re glad to hear that Jim Hjelm designer Francesca Pitera is keeping this great look going forward into next season’s phenomenal gowns. Inspired to bring out the beautiful form of the female figure, Pitera will be using soft layers, ruffles, and flowers to accent her new gowns. Pictured above is a sneak peek of the newest collection by Pitera. With a dramatic pleated halter neckline, natural waist details and side pockets, we can’t wait to get this collection into our studio!

Sneak Peek: Amy Kuschel

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to love Amy Kuschel, here’s one more. This season the designer will be offering what she calls “choose your level of luxury” which includes 25 gowns, offered in a variety of fabrications. From less expensive alternatives to some of Kuschel’s most luxurious fabrications, you have the option to choose the dress that best fits your style and budget.

“I found myself obsessing over the artsy bohemian influences, the art of Japanese paper folding, the charming post-war fashions of the 50’s, and the lure of Zen-like simplicity and calm,” says Kuschel of this season’s inspirations. So you have your dress, you have your veil, and you have your jewelry. Now what about those shoes? We’ve received our fun and flirty 2010 collection from Filippa Scott and our brides love them. Each shoe in the collection is made from the finest natural materials - silk and leather - and can be dyed to the color of your choosing. Having a little pop of color is a big trend right now, so perhaps you’ll want to dye them a gorgeous shade of royal blue for your “something blue,” fuchsia for that pop of girly glamour, or a color that matches your bridesmaids. Kenneth Pool Trunk Show March 25-27!

Next weekend is our Kenneth Pool trunk show! Starting Thursday, March 25th and running through Saturday, March 27th we will have the fall 2010 collection available for you to view and try on. If you've never been to a trunk show before, here's the scoop. Because we are unable to carry the entire collection from a season, we choose our favorite pieces for our studio’s stock inventory. These are the sample dresses you see on a daily basis in the studio. A trunk show is an event where the vendor ships the entire collection to our store (in trunks, of course) and provides our brides the opportunity to access all the dresses we know they will love.

In our continuing coverage of the 5 hottest spring trends, we are so excited about this next trend: bold shoulders.

No not the 80’s giant, puffy sleeves. Let’s hope that look NEVER comes back. We’re talking about the great new one-shouldered dresses and the dresses with illusion straps that we saw all over the runways. Many of the one-shouldered designs incorporate a romantic texture, which we talked about in yesterday’s trend report. The illusion strapped dresses feature soft chiffon or tulle straps, some with delicate beadwork and others with soft, billowy ruffles. If you’re a fashion forward bride, ditch the strapless dress and instead opt for a dress with a detailed shoulder!

The holidays are coming

Can you believe that November is now here and Thanksgiving is a mere 2 1/2 weeks away? Don't have your bridal gown yet? Haven't made decisions about bridesmaids dresses?
