Sneak Peek: Jim Hjelm

This season’s big trend was texture, texture, and more texture. We’re glad to hear that Jim Hjelm designer Francesca Pitera is keeping this great look going forward into next season’s phenomenal gowns. Inspired to bring out the beautiful form of the female figure, Pitera will be using soft layers, ruffles, and flowers to accent her new gowns. Pictured above is a sneak peek of the newest collection by Pitera. With a dramatic pleated halter neckline, natural waist details and side pockets, we can’t wait to get this collection into our studio!

Sneak Peek: Amy Kuschel

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to love Amy Kuschel, here’s one more. This season the designer will be offering what she calls “choose your level of luxury” which includes 25 gowns, offered in a variety of fabrications. From less expensive alternatives to some of Kuschel’s most luxurious fabrications, you have the option to choose the dress that best fits your style and budget.

“I found myself obsessing over the artsy bohemian influences, the art of Japanese paper folding, the charming post-war fashions of the 50’s, and the lure of Zen-like simplicity and calm,” says Kuschel of this season’s inspirations. Pictured here is a sneak peak of a gown from her newest collection. Elegantly draped fabric and a modern interpretation of a dropped waist give this gown a beautiful, sweet simplicity. Of course we don’t have this gown in our studio yet, but we have many other brand new Amy Kuschel dresses that we would love to show you. Book your appointment to try on one of her gowns – once you see how amazing they look, you’ll understand why we love her so much!

Spring Trends in Bridesmaids Dresses | Defined Waistlines

Last week we talked about the newest & hottest trends for bridal gowns going into spring. This week we are taking a look at the new trends for bridesmaids’ dresses. Forget those awful, puffy dresses that used to be a staple at every wedding (we all remember the heinous bridesmaids' dresses in the movie 27 Dresses, right?). These days, brides want their maids to look as good as they do (well, almost as good!). Bridesmaids’ dresses are more fashion-forward than ever. Believe it or not, many of today’s dresses can actually be worn again!

The first trend all over the runways is a defined waistline. Banded and belted waists are a great trend for this spring. This is a great silhouette for your bridesmaids that need a little definition to their waists and like to show off their great, feminine shape. Overall this is a great, universal silhouette that looks good on different body types. We have just received really sweet bridesmaid dresses with this great banded detail. Book your appointment to see these great dresses and check one more thing off of your list!

The Hottest 5 Trends for Spring | Mermaid Silhouette

Our next hot trend for spring is the mermaid silhouette. In a nod to the vintage, old Hollywood feel, the mermaid gown is a modern take on a classic look. This is for the bride who has great curves she wants to show off but still wants the fullness of a ball gown. This is a look that adds drama and sophistication to a dress. We have beautiful gowns in our studio that offer this marriage of vintage sophistication and modern glamour. If you’re a bride that is interested in this look, give us a call to set your appointment and we will help you find that perfect look!

The 5 Hottest Spring Trends | Texture

This week we are covering the 5 hottest trends for bridal gowns this spring. Today is the second day of our trend forecast and the topic is texture, texture and more texture!

The hottest gowns for spring offer up a heavy dose of romance. From dreamy chiffon to romantic organza and soft tulle, this trend appeals to the goddess in all of us. These fabrics dominated the New York runways this season and have been paired with delicate layers and cascading ruffles to deliver a feeling of ethereal beauty.

When choosing a dress with texture you want to keep the details confined to either the bodice or the skirt. Heavy or ornate details and textures on the skirt should always be balanced with a more simplistic bodice and vice versa. You also want to make sure you choose a dress you can wear, as opposed to a dress that is wearing you. The perfect wedding gown should enhance your existing beauty and not steal the spotlight away from you. Keep these things in mind when selecting your gown and you are sure to walk away with your perfect dress! We have received some amazing gowns this week and our brides are loving them. Don’t wait to find your dress! Appointments are filling up fast as wedding season heats up. We look forward to seeing you soon!
